Singapore Sling

Due to access to free internet our next blog is on our Singapore stopover, so no, we did not jag some dream flight that only took 9 hours to UK.

We have just woken in our hotel in Singapore after the first 9 hour leg. The flight was hellishly bumpy and the food was shite.... but the hotel we're staying at in Changi Airport is suprisingly a dreamy oasis!

We're staying in the Crowne Plaza Hotel Changi and I recommend you stay here even if you're only here for 6 hours. The bed is big and soft, interior design is cutting edge, staff are friendly and the food is wholesome, fresh and tasty. It also has a cracking tropical garden pool much like an architectural version of the one Damo and I played in endlessly while we were in Thailand. Even though I haven't had much sleep I feel rather refreshed. I forget the magic of Asian hospitality.

We're about to embark on the hell leg - 16 hours to UK. I'm going to take Mersyndol and drink champagne. Apparently we have 'honeymoon cake' on this flight, whatever that is. Hopefully I'll be sleeping to hard to find out.

Ciao!

HITCHED!!!

We're officially 'Mr and Mrs Hodges'.

Thank god it's over. I can't understand how people get married twice. I'm pretty sure that wedding took 10 years off my life - I've never slept so little and shat so many bricks. Damo seemed a bit cooler than me.

Highlights:
- The vows and Damo's happy face
- Dad's awesome presiding
- Cosmic's speech
- Croquembouche
- Bron's frilled neck lizard impression
- Ella's fab flowers
- Hugs from Sezzle
- The effort my mum and Nicoss went to to get me into that saree
- Everyone looking happy and drunk
- Mum's burst chicken fillet
- Hugs with new family
- Being accidentally attached to Joel
- The after party

Our friend Sylvain took some fantastic photos (I knew we wouldn't need a photographer!) and you can find them here:

All in all it was a FAB day and apparently much fun was had by all. Now for the serious honeymooning. We're off in 6 hours and I can't wait. I do I hope I don't get too pissed on the plane.

Next blog from Ingleterra!!

Hensy Longbottom

Aloha loving friends and family! A cheesy but warm hearted welcome to each and every one of you.

Our blog this time will be coming to you direct from Europa, Europa. Specifically London, Amsterdam, Berlin and Barcelona. A very Contiki-like whirl around the Contintent, but a must-do cultural toe-dip for Damo before I start dragging him eastwards.

I thought it might be a good idea to start our honeymoon blog a few weeks out from the wedding so that you could get a feel for how things like the hens and bucks went. And frankly, without the photographs the only memory I'd have of my hens is a 4:30am visit to the porcelain bus.

So here are a few pics of the hens day/night, which by all accounts went rather amusingly. Upon reflection I really couldn't have chosen a better place than Mrs Macquarie's Chair - not because of the beautiful view, but for the fact that every bride and groom worth their salt pops in for a quick session with their photographer, so we got to just sort of hang around and do slightly inappropriate things with brides in the background. Only right given that the theme was 'Revenge of the Bridezillas', each hen wearing something wrong they'd been made to wear by a blushing bride in the past.

Le Bucks is this coming Saturday and I'll be sure to snap dodgy photos of balls or vomit if I get a chance.

Ciao!
